Our transparency

Receipts of deposits and expenses of our food supply:

April – May
June – July
August – September
October – January

We contributed to the food supply in Swakopmund, Namibia, with fruits and vegetables. We provided 700,000 Namibian dollars (~ 38,000.00 €) for this purpose. Until now we have distributed over 60 tons of food.

The Corona pandemic is unprecedented in recent history. It is both a health and a humanitarian crisis affecting the lives, health, and livelihoods of people around the world. And it doesn’t stop at Namibia either. There, in the densely populated townships, it meets people who already live under difficult conditions and cannot fall back on reserves. For this reason, our solidarity and our swift action were needed.

We have been working with the local supermarket Fruit&Veg since 2017 and have an account in which we regularly deposit money to supply the children of the DRC School Project with fruit and vegetables every week. The supermarket will charge us directly after each purchase and sends us the receipt digitally. This gives us full transparency and control over our donations and costs. We are glad that the supermarket also promised its support in this emergency situation and at the same time granted us a generous discount on our purchases.

We coordinated, organised and communicated for days with our confidant on site Jens Detmold, as well as the teacher Dina M. from the DRC School Project, about how we can create a basic food supply without creating an imbalance and jealousy in the township. The aim was to provide food as fair and long-term as possible for as many people as possible. Within the framework of the government guidelines, we mobilised our forces and connected with many local organisations. It lead to new cooperation partners that we work with up to today.

Thank you very much.

We thank our confidant on site Jens Detmold for his tireless and unconditional support for the local community.

Thanks also to our OPEN DOORS scholarship holder Tulimeke N. for her commitment. She supports Jens Detmold in the food supply.
