Good kindergartens with highly qualified teachers are usually expensive. In the townships this has led to the emergence of cheaper kindergartens lead by under qualified staff. Even though more easily affordable, they cannot compete with national education standards. There are also many children that do not use English in daily life and are only exposed to English in kindergarten, making qualified teachers with good skills in imparting knowledge particularly important. We want to provide children with good education from the very beginning – regardless of family income. Therefore, a kindergarten is to be integrated into the ODEC, where well-trained teachers will take care of two kindergarten classes. The education centre also includes space for a playground and a multifunctional hall, which can be used for graduation parties, parent-teacher conferences, gymnastics and games.
