Many children living in the “poor districts” of DRC and Mondesa have difficulties in attending classes because they are weak in writing and reading. The teachers at a state school do not have the time to offer individual support. For this reason, homework classes takes place from 8h00 to 13h00 before the children have to go to the state school, which does not start before 13h00. During the morning classes, they receive not only help with their homework, but also teaching units in mathematics, geography and biology, among others. They are also supported in reading and writing if there is a need for them to reach the same level of education at school as their schoolmates.
