The Youth Development Programme at ODEC was created to counteract the growing youth unemployment in Namibia and to teach young people valuable skills. Many young people in the country are struggling with unemployment and a lack of prospects. The ODEC therefore offers targeted education and training programmes that provide young people with practical skills in areas such as crafts, IT, business skills and social work.
Through workshops, internships and career guidance, we help young people to discover their talents and prepare for the labour market. The aim is not only to provide participants with the necessary specialised knowledge, but also to promote self-confidence and entrepreneurial thinking so that they can build a professional future on their own. The programme thus makes an active contribution to improving young people’s opportunities and offering them prospects in a society affected by unemployment.
