From Unemployment to Entrepreneurship is the flagship Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme of OPEN DOORS Education Centre (ODEC) in Swakopmund, Namibia. The programme was created to equip unemployed and disadvantaged young people aged 16 to 25 with practical vocational skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and workplace competencies that increase their opportunities for employment, self employment, and sustainable income generation. Through hands on training in areas such as Solar Energy Systems, Hydroponics and Urban Agriculture, Digital Literacy and Graphic Design, Clothing and Fashion Design, and Hospitality and Tourism, participants gain industry relevant experience while also developing financial literacy, business management, and personal development skills. By combining technical training with entrepreneurship education and mentorship, the programme aims to empower young people to become economically independent, create their own opportunities, and contribute positively to the development of their communities.
