A good start to school life requires early integration into a high-quality education system. In Namibia, qualified kindergartens and preschools are often expensive, while low-cost alternatives in townships usually do not meet educational standards. Children who do not speak English at home often only learn the official language in kindergarten, which makes qualified teachers particularly important. Despite the high importance of early childhood development, which 90% of the population consider a priority (World Bank Group, 2018), only 70% of pre-school children were officially registered in 2019.
Early childhood education has been proven to improve school entry and reduce dropout rates. Our kindergarten and preschool, each with 25 children, promote social integration and lay the foundations for open-minded personalities.
